The agreement aims to create an efficient approval framework for new industrial projects in the emirate's priority sectors. This partnership is focused on enhancing regulatory clarity and ensuring seamless integration between regulatory and operational aspects.

The Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zone (RAK EZ) signed a strategic memorandum of understanding with the Environment Protection and Development Authority. The aim of the agreement is to establish a well-organized and efficient framework for approvals for new industrial activities within the emirate's priority sectors. The agreement sets a simplified verification and environmental approval mechanism covering cement, chemical, and general industries. This framework was developed in close coordination with the Health, Safety, and Environment Department in 'RAK EZ' to ensure seamless integration between regulatory and operational aspects. The partnership aims to enhance the clarity of regulatory procedures. The memorandum was signed by Rami Jallad, CEO of the 'RAK EZ' group, and Dr. Abdulrahman Al Shaibani, Acting Director General of the Authority.
